We’re looking for people to serve the local Rondebosch community at our Kids Holiday Club.  As a leader you’ll need to be available from 27 June – 1 July, 8am till 4pm every day in the Rondebosch Main Venue. This will be an exciting opportunity to meet other people from our church while building into the lives of the kids who will be joining us during the week. Come and join us for in this fun filled midweek ministry opportunity!

Cape Agulhas Holiday Club
Contact:  Garrett Loubser at garrett@commongroundchurch.co.za or 0216862970
Date:  Saturday 25 June – Friday 1 July
Approximate cost: R700
Every year Common Ground sends a team of guys and girls to the southernmost tip of the continent, Cape Agulhas, to run a week-long holiday club for +/- 120 underprivileged children. Our aim is to support and bless a pastoral couple who leads a small church in the area. We will also join in and be a part of their church meeting on the Sunday. Most people in the community speak Afrikaans, so if you are able to communicate well in Afrikaans, it will be a great help. Nevertheless, all are welcome to sign up!

Cape Town Winter school
Contact: Hilda Gardner at hilda.gardner@commongood.org.za or 021 686 2970
Event:  29 June – 1 July
Approximate cost:  FREE
Winter School provides common grounders with an opportunity to connect with eager students from Litha Primary School in Gugulethu for a short power-dose of learning! There’s a combination of from-the-front teaching, lots of group learning, some fun science experiments and social time in between. Volunteer opportunities range from being the overal Winter School organiser, a Group leader (assigned to a group of learners for the duration), or a Teacher (teach from the front) to a Lunch- or Outing Coordinators to name a few. This is a great way to make a big difference in a short period of time  and catch a quick taste of the reality faced by learners at under resourced schools.

Coastal Camp
Contact: Roger Haynes at roger@commongroundchurch.co.za or call 021 686 2970
Dates: 27-30 June 2010
Cost: +- R 550 per person
This road trip-style camp will be filled with fun, adventure and a lot of great surf. Our main aims are: finding and surfing the best possible waves as regularly as possible, deepening our personal relationship with God and building friendships with each other through intentional times together. We encourage surfers with any range of experience to join us, however we have found that this is probably not the best trip to start learning the art from scratch.

Wild Coast Outreach
Contact: Janine and Dylan Langheim at janine@commongrounchurch.co.za or 021 686 2970
Dates: 25 June – 2 July
Cost: R1350 excl. transport and pocket money(group size 8-12), but including all meals, village based accommodation, basic Xhosa lessons, hike to Hole in the Wall.
This is the 3rd group from Common Ground to travel to the rural Wild Coast to partner with Roger Galloway and his wife Karen. They live at Zithulele Mission Hospital and work with a number of churches and NGOs in the surrounding villages. You can expect a week of cultural immersion, stretching, sharing and getting your hands dirty as you serve the rural communities on the Wild Coast.
